FAMILY PEACE CENTER WASHINGTON COUNTY

Together, we are ending the cycles of violence and abuse.

We’re creating a new kind of Safety, Healing, and Hope: Peace.

Coming January 2026

A Vision Realized. A Community United. A Future Transformed.

The Family Peace Center has been the effort of a community with a dream for more and a vision of a safe, healthy, and hopeful community for everybody.

We are a one-of-a-kind, collaborative hub where survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking can access the full range of services they need, all under one roof. More than 20 partner agencies will be working side-by-side, providing trauma-informed care, legal advocacy, medical support, therapy, housing assistance, early childhood services, and more.

But this was never just about a building. This was a promise that we made in 2014 that survivors deserved better, and now we are ensuring that the generational cycles of violence and abuse will be broken for good.

Why We Built the Family Peace Center

For years, survivors in Washington County had to go door to door—retelling their story again and again—just to get the help they needed. The system was fragmented, retraumatizing, and nearly impossible to navigate. At the same time, rates of family violence, trauma, and abuse surged—especially during the pandemic—overwhelming an already strained network of providers.

We knew we needed something different. Something better. So we came together.

What followed was a groundbreaking capital campaign rooted in partnership, persistence, and community.

Survivors, advocates, elected leaders, nonprofit partners, and community members joined forces to imagine a new kind of space: a centralized, coordinated, and deeply compassionate place for safety, healing, and hope. Through tireless fundraising, legislative advocacy, and design planning, the Family Peace Center became more than a vision—it became a movement.

And now, that movement has a home.

Holistic Services Transformed by Collaboration and Coordination

At the Family Peace Center, more than 20 partner agencies and their services come together under one roof—creating a safe and welcoming space where survivors and their children can access everything they need in one place.

Our model is coordination across partners to ensure services are seamlessly connected, eliminating the gaps and silos that too often leave survivors on their own. The result is a holistic system of care—accessible, compassionate, and survivor-centered.

What you’ll find at the Family Peace Center:

  • Safety & Advocacy: Crisis response, advocacy, case management, shelter

  • Justice: Law enforcement, prosecution, court, and legal aid

  • Healing: Counseling, therapy, support groups, and peers with lived experience

  • Medical Care: Adult and child forensic medical exams and follow-up care

  • Children & Families: Therapeutic preschool, childcare, and parenting support

  • Basic Needs: Food, clothing, housing support, and transportation assistance

  • Navigation: One intake, coordinated services, and support every step of the way

Sharing Our Why

More Than a Building

Our mission is to work collaboratively with our community to provide a single location for prevention, intervention, healing, and hope.

We’ve created a new model—one that is holistic, evidence-based, and built for long-term change. Together, we are breaking generational cycles of abuse and building a future where families don’t just survive—they thrive.
